Private or Public?
Public lists at the District webpage make everyone’s email available to everyone.

Notes:
Oh yes, there is a small dilemma - Private or Public
Public lists at the District webpage make everyone’s email available to everyone.
Certainly, if you are selling something - you want Lions and the Public to be able to contact you. So you want to be shown at the website.
Private lists protect the privacy of individuals
Certainly, you do not want to get email on an unsolicited basis that you are not interested in. So you have to decide for yourself. A private list can include those that want to maintain their privacy.
I say that you need BOTH, because there is more than one need.
In Connecticut, we have a list of everyone that wants to be there. I add any Lion or Supporter that wishes to be shown. But we also have closed email list servers. We encourage all Lions to join. Only members can send to the service, and we ask Lions to send only Lions Information, whether it is Club news or District related information. We now have nearly 1/3rd of our District Cabinets and 1/4th of our Clubs.
